Through drawings, etchings, woodblocks, silkscreens and lithographs, my work taps into a stream of consciousness, where organic forms blend seamlessly with synthetic parts to create hybrid creatures that question identity, existence, and individuality. Through a modern reinterpretation of ancient Maya mark-making, I explore a dialogue between the unseen and the concrete, the natural and the artificial. This near-hieroglyphic perception represents a creative stream that yearns for human connection while navigating the accelerating interface between technology and biology.
In resisting conscious thought and avoiding conceptualization, I allow the unconscious mind to lead, inviting viewers into a realm that is both otherworldly and personal. My intent is for this ambiguity to open space for free interpretation, provoking existential contemplation of a future where the organic and synthetic converge.
Themes of sexuality, birth, and creation recur as I explore the paradoxes humanity may face in an AI-driven world. Through subconscious drawing, I blur boundaries between nature and machinery, challenging viewers to navigate their own unease and intrigue in our rapidly evolving, hybridized landscape.
