A native of Guatemala and a graduate of the Guatemalan National School for the Arts, began her artistic journey at the age of 14. Her creative path has been shaped by her life across the United States, Central America, and Europe, before she made her home in the vibrant, multicultural art community of Los Angeles.

A pioneer in the field of Mestizan Art, Lainfiesta, brings a unique perspective to her practice, blending the organic with the mechanical in a visual language that is at once ancient and futuristic. Her art taps into the stream of consciousness, producing artworks without thought, will, or intervention from the conscious mind. Rather than conceptualizing or rationally planning her pieces, Lainfiesta uses subconscious drawing to allow images to emerge organically, giving the unconscious mind great sway in her creative process. Through this approach, her work channels the rich traditions of Maya mark-making through a modern lens, creating a dialogue between the unseen and the concrete, the natural and the synthetic. This almost hieroglyphic perception reflects a creative stream that yearns for human connection while navigating the accelerating interface between technology and biology.
